Nowadays kids use mobiles and tablets for entertainment from a very young age, so it won't be a challenge for them to use it for studying. Some Benefits of this approach:
1) Mobility. Traditional English learning imply class work with teacher, it's not really convenient. Mobile apps provide you access to learning platform wherever you are 24/7.
2) good for vocabulary enrichment. Using apps with word cards is the most effective way to learn and remember new words.
3) Independence. With mobile apps you no longer need teacher to check for your mistakes.
There is a ton of apps for Learning languages on the market, but not all of them are user-friendly and effective. I made a list of best apps in my opinion:
1) lingokids
It's a good app for kids 2-8, the design is colorful and the playlearning method is done in a appropriate way , so it's easy and motivating for kids, also it's ads free app, what in my opinion is big advantage. But it's not ideal, all games are on English only, so it's not a best app for students with zero knowledge, also the cost of full access is kind of expensive.
2)Buddy.ai
This app uses artificial intelligence for practicing speaking and listening skills. Voice recognition is sometimes works weird but overall experience is good. There are some games with a good design all of them are pointed on different aspects of learning. There is no free version,but it's not expensive,for someone it could be a disadvantage, also overall process could become boring with time.
This one is good for kids with zero knowledge, you can start with an alphabet there. The design is not perfect, but the games which are provided are good. Also the app has a good parental control with screen timer and progress report.
This is my top 3 list, based on my experience, so that`s what you can use as a base for learning English
